The Evangelical Congregational Church is people – people just like you – committed to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that men, women and children may experience saving faith in Christ. The people of the EC Church also seek to help new believers discover their place in a church family where they can find support on their faith journey, a journey that leads to a personal growth in Christlikeness.

At First EC Church, we recognize the Greatest Commandment Jesus gave us, which sums up all of the Old Testament Laws within Jesus’ New Covenant:

Matthew 22:37–40 (NLT) — 37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

We also embrace the final instructions Jesus left us with:

Matthew 28:18–20 (NLT) — 18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

We understand a disciple must embrace three basic directions in their walk with Christ:

UP, IN, & OUT

Each relationship is what Jesus exemplified here on earth during His ministry.

He lived an UP relationship with God the Father.

He lived an IN relationship with His Disciples.

He lived an OUT relationship with outsiders who did not yet know Him as Lord & Savior.
